Meet Jasper: Our Page-a-Day® Cat of the Week!

Nisha - This week's Page-A-Day Cat Photo Contest WinnerJasper (formerly Buddy) was rescued 3 separate times! This was the bio we read and subsequently decided that we just HAD to bring this poor little one home: https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/24546716 We adopted Jasper in July of 2016 and he has truly blossomed into the MOST affectionate little cat! Jasper lives comfortably without any more medical concerns because of his veterinary diet which has eradicated his urinary issues. Jasper has 2 brothers, Ridley and Logan (also rescues) and Logan was featured on April 13, 2016 in the Cat A Day edition! We LOVE all our "boys" and could not imagine our lives without them!

Congratulations to Jasper, our Page-a-Day® Cat of the Week!

Meet Nisha: Our Page-a-Day® Cat of the Week!

Nisha - This week's Page-A-Day Cat Photo Contest WinnerNisha was adopted from the local animal control in May 2009. She reached her little 6-toed paw out to get my attention and immediately rubbed against my hand. She is an extremely curious cat who loves to climb, jump and squeeze herself into any place she can. She loves boxes for play and sleep. She can be a bit of a trouble maker, getting trapped behind doors and in cabinets, but you would never know it by her sweet, innocent face!

Congratulations to Nisha, our Page-a-Day® Cat of the Week!

Local Press for Lola the Cat in Delco Daily Times

Pat DeRose of Holmes in the Delco Daily Times

This headline appeared in the Delco Daily Times on November 3, 2017! "Purr-fect: Ridley cat claws way to top, will appear on international cat calendar"

"RIDLEY TOWNSHIP >> Pat DeRose of Holmes says she was caught off guard, yet delightfully surprised, in September by the letter that arrived in her mailbox. Workman Publishing Company wrote to inform the pet owner that the photo of her 9-year-old cat “Lola” that she had sent in, almost a year before, was chosen to be featured on the “365 Cats” 2018 calendar. The popular 365 Cats calendar has sold 9.9 million copies worldwide.

Married for 44 years, Pat and Tony DeRose have been lifelong cat lovers. Images of cats grace their doormat and appear all over their home – ceramic cats, colorful cats, glass cats, cat pillows, cat artwork, cat statues, cat kitchen canisters, cat vases, cat placemats, cat plates, and many other cat-themed items. Two years ago, Pat was given one of the 365 Cats calendars, which highlight felines from all over the world, as a gift. Each day of the year features a different photo of a cat in a unique pose or with a special backdrop, along with a caption and the name and hometown of its owner. Inside the 2016 calendar, she happened to see an entry form that cat owners can use to submit a photo of their cat to be a possible featured feline on the next year’s calendar. On a whim, she tore out the form and sent in a photo of Lola. DeRose said that she never received a response and she forgot about it.

The following year, however, DeRose bought another calendar herself, because she enjoyed the first one that was gifted to her. When she came upon the form in January 2017, she again decided to enter a photo of her beloved Lola. This time, she chose a candid photo of Lola up on a step stool in an upstairs bedroom, staring out the window. According to DeRose, Lola climbs the step stool on a regular basis to scope out the squirrels and birds outside. Although the declawed Lola is strictly an indoor cat, she instinctively likes to check out the constant array of wildlife outside.

On Sept. 1, DeRose received a letter from Workman Publishing, congratulating her because Lola was chosen as one of the “purrfect” cats with “unique personality and irresistible charm” to appear on August 25, 2018, in the coming year’s 365 Cats calendar."

Meet Carly: Our Page-A-Day® Dog of the Week!

Carly, Our Page-A-Day Dog of the Week

Our family adopted Carly 7 years ago from a local rescue group called Animal Resource Foundation (ARF). When Carly and her owner Ashley first met there was an immediate connection and bond! Carly is the heart and soul of our home. She loves nothing more than laying in a patch of warm sun in her backyard and watching the wildlife (deer, fox, birds, and squirrels)! Carly is also featured every year in the ARF rescue donation calendar. Without ARF we would not have found our Carly and we will always be so grateful to them!
