Meet Mila: Our Page-A-Day® Dog of the Week!

Mila, Our Page-A-Day Dog of the Week

Mila is a spoiled rescue puppy. She enjoys bossing her much bigger brother around and going on adventures. She hopes to one day be a certified therapy dog so she can go to work with her mom at the hospital.

Congratulations to Mila, our Page-A-Day® Dog of the Week!

Meet Mia: Our Page-a-Day® Cat of the Week!

Mia - This week's Page-A-Day Cat Photo Contest Winner

Mia is a rescue kitty! I found her as a tiny stray kitten, meowing loudly from the engine compartment of my car, trying to stay warm. She is a beautiful Snowshoe Siamese with the softest fur. She's affectionate, playful, purrs constantly, and always greets me at the door. And she is a true Siamese--very vocal and expressive! Meowing saved her life as a kitten, and it continues to be one of her many charming traits 6 years later.

Congratulations to Mia, our Page-a-Day® Cat of the Week!

Choosing Courage - Gifts for Veterans - Memorial Day

Choosing Courage: Inspiring Stories of What It Means to Be a Hero:

For ages 10+!  What turns an ordinary person into a hero? What happens in the blink of an eye on a battlefield (or in any dangerous situation) to bring out true courage? The men and women who have been recognized by the Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation know the answers to these questions deep in their hearts.

Adding depth and context are illuminating sidebars throughout and essays on the combat experience and its aftermath: topics such as overcoming fear; a mother mourning her son; and “surviving hell” as a prisoner of war. Back matter includes a glossary and an index.

"The stories in this book . . . convey the human side of heroism."
-Baltimore Sun

They're also strong-willed, flawed human beings made of flesh and (unafraid of) blood, rendered here in stunning detail. This fascinating and compulsively readable book even has a few tricks that could save your life. First tip: Don't get sick in July." — Mickey Rapkin, author of Pitch Perfect.

97 + Ways to Make Your Pet Love You Even More!

Our pets are so loveable (even the naughtiest Bad Dogs® and Bad Cats®!), and boy do we love to love them back!

If you want some great ideas to make your dog and cat love you even more, have some fun with 97 Ways to Make A Dog Smile and 97 Ways to Make A Cat Like You

Fun activities for dogs!

  • “Subliminal Advertising.” Sneak a favorite word like cookie into an otherwise boring rant.
  • “In a Nutshell.” Play this  classic sleight-of-hand game by hiding a treat under one of three plastic cups.
  • “The Lawrence Welk.” Dogs love to chase soap bubbles even more than toddlers do. Get fit while playing.
  • “Hansel and Gretel.” For an afternoon of fun, scamper about the house leaving a trail of plain popped popcorn in your wake.

Fun activities for cats!

  • “Eye on the Ball.” Record a tennis match or a Ping-Pong game on TV to play back for your cat when he needs a bit of exercise.
  • “Cat Burrito.” Wrap your cat in a towel, burrito-style, which is particularly good for anxious pets or trips to the vet.
  • “Boing, Boing!” Wind pipe cleaners around a pencil in a spiral shape to create springs. Carefully slide off the pencil so the spirals go “boing” when pressed.
  • “Tickle, Tickle.” Tickle Kitty under her chin and softly say “gitchy, gitchy, gitchy” in your highest-pitched voice.
