We got Melody at a local music festival where some teenagers had found kittens and were trying to find them homes. Since we foster for a local shelter, we took her there to get medical attention for her eyes. She was born with microphthalmia and was blind. We fostered and later adopted her. Melody’s eyes were removed to prevent future risk of cancer. Melody gets around just like our sighted cats. She uses her other senses to play, run, get on the furniture, eat, and use the litter box. Melody wants to show everyone that love is blind and “special needs” cats can be just like “normal” cats!
Congratulations to Melody, our Page-a-Day® Cat of the Week!
